This morning at Ottawa City Hall, bv02’s own Andrew Milne, OC Transpo General Manager, Alain Mercier, and Diane Deans, Chair of City of Ottawa Transit Commission, announced that the new OC Transpo 560-560 Next Bus Arrivals service had launched.
The 560-560 Next Bus Arrivals service is a new navigation tool that provides real-time bus schedules and the latest transit information via SMS.
Riders can now send a text message to 560-560 with their stop number and they will receive up to three scheduled arrival times for their route. If a bus stop or station has more than one bus route, the user will be asked to specify which route they want.
Riders can also register online at the OC Transpo website for live alerts that can be sent to their email or cell phone. These alerts include cancelled and detoured trips, elevator status, general news updates and changes in service to their route.
This fully bilingual tool is part of an ongoing service enhancement initiative that bv02 is working on with OC Transpo. Stay tuned for updates on what we’re working on next.
